Government provided assistance in education without discrimination
CM Shri Chouhan announces at programme of Muslim NRIs of Indian origin

Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced Rs. 10 thousand each honorarium for 105 talented Muslim students in the country. Shri Chouhan was addressing 24th convention of Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (USA-Canada) here today. The 2-day convention was held under the aegis of Association of Indian Muslims, Bhopal.

The Chief Minister said that education builds human beings. Education is very necessary. The state government has provided necessary assistance and facilities in education sector without any discrimination. Scholarship schemes have been implemented for poor students belonging to minorities, weaker section and general category. Scholarships are being given to 1,60,000 students in the state. Economic assistance worth Rs. 15 lakh is also being provided for study in foreign countries. Cycles are given free of cost to students who go outside village to study. The students not able to get benefits of these schemes are provided higher education loans on guarantee of state government. Free books are also provided and till class VIII free uniforms are provided. Girl students securing over 60 percent marks in exams are given benefit of ‘Gaon Ki Beti’ Yojana. Earlier, only a couple of students used to get selected in prestigious national institutes, this year 1700 students of the state have achieved this distinction through proper guidance and extension of facilities.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has established a new relation with people. In the state, daughters are considered boon and not bane. They are Ladli Laxmis. At the time of birth, each girl is given savings certificate of Rs. 30 thousand. Along with economic assistances at various stages of education, the girl becomes ‘Lakhpati’ on attaining adulthood. From year 2006 till date 21 lakh girls have become Ladli Laxmis. Along with efforts to educate women, effective efforts have also been made to make them self-reliant. There is provision of 50 percent reservation to women on teaching posts and local bodies. Except Forest Department, women are being given 33 percent reservation in government service.

Shri Chouhan said that life becomes meaningless without brotherhood. India has given message of love and brotherhood. Everyone is respected and loved in India. He said that ‘Mazhab Naheen Sikhata Aapas Main Bair Rakhna, Hindi Hain Ham Watan Hai Hindostan Hamara’. Therefore, festivals of all religions are held at CH House with utmost joy, fervour and honour. The Chief Minister released souvenir ‘Clarion The Unity’.

Founder Trustee Dr. S. A.S. Nadkar also spoke on the occasion. He informed that federation with set up in Mumbai in year 1991. Beginning was made by rewarding students securing over 90 percent marks.

The organization has felicitated talented students of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, New Delhi, Gujarat, Odisha, Tailangana, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Assam, Bihar, Kerala, Karnataka, Jammu-Kashmir, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Haryana.
