Pune, November 29, 2019:The Convocation Ceremony of 137th Course was held at Habibullah Hall, NDA on 29 Nov 19. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Professor SK Srivastava Vice-Chancellor, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong.
A total of 211 cadets were conferred the degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University which included 42 cadets in Science Stream, 85 cadets in Computer Science stream and 84 cadets in Arts Stream. 13 cadets from friendly foreign count5ries were also awarded degrees during the programme. In addition to this, the second batch of B.Tech comprising of 37 Naval cadets and 36 Air Force Cadets also received course completion certificate after 3 yrs and will be conferred with the Degrees after completion of balance 1 year at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.
The Chief Guest was received by Air Marshal IP Vipin, VM, Commandant, National Defence Academy. The academic report of Autumn Term 2019 was presented by the Principal, NDA. The Chief Guest in his convocation address congratulated the cadets of the passing out course for undergoing the training with dedication and hard work. He emphasized about the role and importance of Armed Forces in shaping India and also motivated the future military leaders to carry forward the professionalism, ethos imbibed at the academy towards the service of the nation.
SCC Anurag Pandey, won the Commandant’s Silver Medal and COAS Trophy presented by General K Sundarji, PVSM for standing first in Science stream with highest FGPA (Final Grade Point Average). ACC Majhi Giridhar got the Commandant’s Silver Medal and the CNS Trophy presented by Admiral Suresh Mehta, PVSM, AVSM for standing first in Computer Science stream with highest FGPA. CQMH Sumant Kumar bagged the Commandant’s Silver Medal and the CAS Trophy presented by Air Chief Marshal NC Suri, PVSM, AVSM, VM for standing first in Arts stream with highest FGPA. BCC Niohant Kumar won the Commandant’s Silver Medal and Admiral OS Dawson’s Trophy for standing first in B.Tech programme with highest FGPA.
Rear Admiral SK Grewal, NM, VSM, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor, presented the Vote of Thanks on the conclusion of Convocation Ceremony.
