3 COVID cases from Wakad among 43 fresh cases in PCMC

Pimpri, May 24, 2020: Till 8.35 pm today, 43 Coronavirus positive patients were reported in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area, taking the total tally to 354. Also, one patient was  discharged from the hospital. According to PCMC, the new patients include 36 from Anandnagar (Chinchwad), 3 from Wakad, 1 from Pimpri, 1 from Navi Sangvi and 2 from Kiwale. Anandnagar near Chinchwad station has reached 105.

PCMC officials said that out of 354 total patients, 170 have been cured while seven have died. There are still 177 active patients who are undergoing treatment in different hospitals including YCM hospital and Bhosari hospital. Also, out of 55 patients from outside PCMC who were found positive, 10 have died while 17 have been cured. There are still 28 of them undergoing treatment in PCMC including four who were found positive today.

In Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), 179 new patients have been found today till 7.30 pm. Also, 77 patients have recovered while 6 people died. According to the PMC health department, the total number of COVID patients in Pune city has reached 4782 out of which 2550 have been cured while 254 have died.

At present, 1977 active patients are still undergoing treatment in different hospitals. They include 176 critical patients including 47 with ventilator support. Today swab samples of 681 patients were collected for COVID test. Till now samples of 41,174 people have been tested.

Across Maharashtra, there were 3041 new COVID19 cases taking the total number of cases to 50231. Also, 58 people died while 1196 got discharge from hospitals after being cured. There are still 33988 active cases. The total death toll stands at 1635, while 14600 patients have been discharged till date, according to Maharashtra Health Department.
