5 pistols, 7 bullets recovered from criminals in Pune

Officials from crime branch unit 3 of Pune city police have nabbed three accused and claimed to have recovered five pistols and seven bullets totally worth Rs 1.74 lakhs.

Acting on a tip-off received by police naik Atul Sathe, a team led by police inspector Sitaram More laid a trap and nabbed  Ambadas Tayyapa Pawar (25) of Chikhali in Indapur taluka of Pune district, Nilesh Dattatray Mhaske (25) of Rahuri in Ahmednagar district, around 5 pm at Swargate ST stand on Monday.

Additional commissioner of police (crime branch) CH Wakde , “Mhaske had sold 2 pistols and threw bullets to his friend Rahul Jagdhane (30) of Rahuri, for Rs 70,600 which we have recovered.”

DCP (crime branch) PR Patil added,”Pawar was also involved in robbery at Fadgate chowk in Shukrawar Peth on February 2.”

ACP (crime 1) Rajendra Joshi said that Mhaske is a history sheeter and has several cases registered against him in Ahmednagar.
