50 lakhs farmers should get insurance amount immediately : Fadnavis to Union Govt

New Delhi, 4.Nov.19: “Agriculture in Maharashtra is affected by heavy rain. Government should give immediate assistance to the farmers as they are in big financial problem. Fifty lakh farmers should get the money of crop insurance immediately” appealed Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis to central government.

He was speaking during his visit to today called upon the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah. Mr. Fadanvis presented a detailed preliminary report on the damage caused by the heavy rainfall in Maharashtra and requested the central government to help the farmers.

“Around 90 to 100 % of the agricultural damage was done in many places of the 325 talukas of Maharashtra.  Fifty lakh farmers have taken crop insurance in the state. They should get the insurance money immediately” said honorable Chief Minister.

Home Minister to hold meeting of insurance companies

The Chief Minister said that Home Minister Amit Shah would soon hold a meeting of insurance companies to get the insurance amount for the 50 lakh farmers in the state. Amit Shah has directed that to send a union squad in Maharashtra to review situation created by the heavy rain.
