MIM workers protest outside Azam Campus Pune, demand ouster of MRM president Latif Magdum
Pune, September 4, 2015: High drama prevailed outside Azam Campus on Friday afternoon after workers of All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) staged protests against the Azam Campus management for inviting RSS ideologue Indresh Kumar. The workers gathered outside the Campus and were prevented from getting inside by a strong posse of policemen.
Later the police whisked them away to the police station and detained them for a br
ief period.
AIMIM senior office bearer Azhar Tamboli said that the protest was held to remind the
management that they should not have invited Kumar to Azam Campus. “We demand immediate removal of its Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) president Latif Magdum from the management committee. We will agitate further till he is not ousted in the next one month. The sentiments of Muslims have been hurt 
by such a decision to allow Kumar to be the chief guest for the function,” he added.
MCE Society trustee S A Inamdar said that the management had nothing to do with the function and said that it had given the hall on rent to MRM and were not knowing that Mr Kumar was the guest at the function.
