Specially abled children off to Kulu Trek

Pune 20 June 2017 : About 34 specially abled children ( Mentally Challenged ) from Pune based NGO Navkshitij yesterday took off for trek to Kulu . The initiative is organized every year by Navkshitij which has till date organized twelve such treks in various parts of India including Manali, Manimahesh , Kashmir , Bagicha near Nainital etc . Former Deputy Mayor Dr Satish Desai was present at Pune Railway Station to see off the group which consists of 34 specially abled children ,15 volunteers and Neelima Desai Founder Navkshitij. Such initiatives help the children to develop self confidence and enjoy the beauty of nature . ZEP Adventure Club known for its trekking expertise has been supporting this initiative. Mohan Bhagwat and Dr Rajesh Patankar were also there to support the children. The nine day initiative includes rappelling across Jalori Pass , river crossing amongst other adventure activities. The group will return on 27 June 2017 .
