Army chief visits Southern Command HQ

Pune – General Bipin Rawat visited Headquarters Southern Command from 25 April to 26 April 2018 to review the operational preparedness and take an update on the current operational and administrative issues pertaining to Southern Command. He was accompanied by his wife Mrs Madhulika Rawat, President Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA).

The COAS was briefed by Lieutenant General DR Soni, PVSM, VSM, ADC, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Command. Thereafter COAS addressed all the officers of Pune Station and interacted with them over a cup of tea.

Mrs Madhulika Rawat visited ‘Protsahan’, a Skill Development Centre of Southern Command which imparts training to empower the wives of the Army personnel, she was accompanied by (Dr) Mrs Suman Soni, Regional President of AWWA Southern Command. Mrs Madhulika Rawat was shown various vocational training courses being conducted at the Protsahan Centre, where she also interacted with the wives of all ranks of the station. The COAS and his wife departed for New Delhi in the afternoon of 26 April 18.
