PuneWaali to unfold the journey of chef Meeta Makhecha and photographer Uma Dhanwatey

Pune, June 12, 2018 : How did Punewaalis, chef Meeta Makhecha and photographer Uma Dhanwatey break the glass ceiling and get to pursue their dream in what remains largely male dominated areas ? What does it take to stand up and be counted as an expert chef and photographer?

This weekend Punekars will get a chance to listen to the adventures of The Flour Works owner Meeta Makhecha and Uma Dhanwatey, founder of Uma Dhanwatey Photography, as they honed their skills and learnt from experts in the United States of America. Both Meeta and Uma returned home and have set shop in Pune where they have found a welcoming space to showcase their skills.

The duo will be guests at the third edition of PuneWaali, a chat show that is being anchored by author Sudha Menon for SheThePeople.TV, on June 16th, at The Flours Works, Salunkhe Vihar road at 6 pm.

Pune Waali, the monthly live chat will celebrate the lives, achievements and journeys of women who can motivate and inspire other women. The chat show has been launched by SheThePeopleTv, the country’s biggest digital platform for telling the stories of women and touches some 15 million women every month through online and offline platforms that allow them to meet, discuss, network, support and catalyze their individual growth efforts. SheThePeople.TV also has similar chat shows celebrating the lives of women in Bombay and Bangalore, among others. The earlier editions of the festival have featured Natarang actor Sonalee Kulkarni, actor Saie Tamhankar and popular Radio Jockey, RJ Shonali, among others.

Sudha is the author of 4 non-fiction books including Devi, Diva or She-Devil and is the founder of writing workshop series Get Writing and Writing With Women. “It is deeply gratifying to bring alive the stories of feisty Pune women to a live audience because these are stories that give hope to each of us that everything is possible if we can just focus and commit to our chosen path. I am delighted to be doing this show on a platform such as SheThePeople.Tv that is positively impacting the lives of millions of women every month.”
