‘Kashmir to be unraveled in Pune’

PUNE: A book written by A S Dulat, the former chief of India’s external intelligence agency Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) and former special director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), titled as‘Kashmir – The Vajpayee Years’ will be published in Pune on the eve of Independence Day ( Aug 14) at YASHADA, MDC – 5, 1st floor at 5.00 pm.

Organized by Pune International Centre, this program will be open to all, however prior registration is mandatory for the same.kashmir

Kashmir has always been a contentious issue since India’s independence. Nature has lavishly endowed Kashmir with certain distinctive features that are paralleled by few alpine regions in the world. However the sheer existence of this Princely State is very intriguing. A S Dulat has very aptly written an interesting story of unseen Kashmir and its existence in his new book.

Renowned allied dignitaries will also have a panel discussion on this evening after the book launch.

The Panelists include, Lt. Gen. Vinayak Patankar – former corps commander and security adviser to Chief Minister, Jammu and Kashmir, Jayant Umranikar – former Director General of Police (special operations) Maharashtra, who has also worked with RAW, Sanjay Nahar – founder president, Sarhad (NGO). This session will be moderated by Dr Dileep Padgaonkar – former Jammu and Kashmir interlocutor.

This discussion would give an excellent opportunity to audience to know more about Kashmir and its controversies.

A S Dulat (Amarjit Singh Dulat) was an IPS officer of 1965 batch of Rajasthan cadre.
He joined the Indian Police Service from Rajasthan Cadre in 1965. He served as the head of RAW from 1999 to 2000. After retirement he was appointed as adviser on Kashmir in the Prime Ministers Office (PMO) and served there from January 2001 to May 2004.
