CORPS OF SIGNALS CELEBRATES ITS 105th CORPS DAY

The Corps of Signals of the Indian Army celebrates its 105th Raising Day on 15th Feb 2016.  Since its inception on 15th Feb 1911, Corps of Signals has gone through a process of constant progress in keeping with the ongoing evolution of Communication Technology.  Today, the Corps is well poised to exploit the state-of-the art modern communication techniques to meet the diverse and challenging requirements of the Indian Army in the   21st Century.

The prime project of Govt. of India for transforming India into a digitally empowered society and economy has given rightful impetus to ongoing activities in Corps of Signals.  Year 2015 was an eventful year for the Corps of Signals in contributing a lot in networking, network security and mobile communications.

In the field of sports and adventure, Corps of Signals has achieved many a laurels.  The sportsmen from Corps of Signals have won one Silver and two Bronze medals in the International events and eight Gold, four Silver and five Bronze medals in the National events.  Boxers, handball players, athletes and weightlifters from the Corps of Signals have also contributed in their respective fields.  The “Dare Devils”, the Despatch Riders  display team of the Corps have brought laurels by establishing three Guinness Book of world records during the year 2015.  Their stellar performance during this year’s Republic Day Parade at Rajpath also enthralled one and all.

To celebrate the occasion, functions were organised in all Signal units which were graced by serving / retired Signalers. GOC –in-C Southern Command Lt Gen Bipin Rawat, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, has also conveyed his best wishes to serving and retired personnel of Corps of Signals and has lauded them for their selfless contribution to nation building.
