AIMIM legislators bat for Dalit –Muslim Unity

PUNE:The two All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Maharashtra legislators on Tuesday stressed the need for forging strong Dalit-Muslim unity aimed at contesting the 2017 Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections in sight. The legislators addressed a mammoth gathering of party workers who came from various parts of Pune on the occasion of Eid Milan programme.

All important leaders of AIMIM like state president Moin Sayyed, Maharashtra Western region president Anjum Inamdar, Byculla MLA adv Waris Pathan, Aurangabad MLA Imtiyaz Jaleel, Pune district president Mohiuddin Sayyed , Pune city president Sarfraz Shaikh were present along with Budhist leader Bhante Rajratanji, Rahul Dambale of Republican Yuva Morcha, Dr Sidharth Dhende of RPI, Pradipdada Sathe of Bhimsena Mahasangh and Vitthal Gaikwad.

Aurangabad Central MLA Imtiyaz Jaleel said Dalits, Buddhists and Muslims should unite to capture power at the centre and state . Raj Thackeray will be given a befitting reply soon for his nonsense talk yesterday, he added. Jaleel further said that dalit-muslim unity was a major factor behind the unprecedented success of the party in the recently concluded Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) elections.

MLA Waris Pathan said AIMIM will gain power by contesting municipal elections in the country. He appealed for strengthening of Dalit Muslim unity. This time we have won two assembly seats, next time AIMIM will win 200 seats. We have won 27 seats in Aurangabad municipal elections. Now we will contest Kalyan and Dombivili elections. At present we are participating in Bangalore elections, he added.

Dalit leader Dambale said that nowadays every party takes name of AIMIM to gain political mileage. Dambale further that the future of the country will change if Dalits and Muslims voted en masse to keep the fascists out of power.

Vitthal gaikwad said that the AIMIM party stood for the cause of nationalism and humanity. He further said that manuwadi system was against the rise of bahujans and Muslims.

Bhante Rajratan said that people should follow teachings of Quran and stay away from fundamentalism. He appealed the people to strive for universal brotherhood.

AIMIM state president Moin Sayyed said that there was an urgent need to stop the sanghis from dismantling the constitution of the country. Moin demanded stern action against those who had threatened AIMIM Supremo Asaduddin Owaisi with dire consequences.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Anjum Inamdar. The speech was over by 10 pm. After that people had sheer khurma. Later AIMIM leaders went to Ashoka Mews in Kondhwa for dinner.
A huge mob had gathered in Mithanagar in Kondhwa to catch a glimpse of the legislators who also inaugurated the Kondhwa office late night. Heavy police bandobast was deployed to avoid any untoward situation.
