A melodious morning at Bharat Gayan Samaj

Pune, 30th September: ‘Bharat Gayan Samaj’ a city based institute devoted to Indian Classical Music will be hosting a melodious morning for Punekars on the occasion of its 105th Anniversary. Budding artists MugdhaVainshampayan, Anuradha Kuber and Atul Khandekar will be performing at Bharat Gayan Samaj’, ‘Ketkar Hall’ located at Shanipar, Bajirao Road, on Saturday, October 1st, 2016 at 10.00am.

Founded by Devgandharva Pt. Bhaskrabuwa Bakhale ‘Bharat Gayan Samaj’ has been relentlessly enriching people with the richness of Indian Music since last 105 years. This institute will be awarding these upcoming artists for their exceptional work in the field of music. Dr. Arvind Thatte, a noted harmonium player will be presenting ‘Manik Varma Puraskar’ to Mugdha Vainshampayan, ‘Malati Pande Puraskar’ to Anuradha Kuber and ‘Balgandharva Puraskar’ to Atul Khandekar during this ceremony. The awards comprise of a cash prize of Rs.5000/- to each artist. This will be followed by the vocal performances by the awardees.

Mugdha Vainshampayan a final contestant from famous ‘SaReGaMaPa’ little champ competition is now a young and upcoming artist. She is a disciple of Nishad Bakare. Anuradha Kuber is an emerging vocalist of ‘Bhendi Bazaar’ Gharana. She was trained by senior vocalist Pt. Janorikar Buwa for more than 15 years. While born in a family having rich legacy of music, Atul Khandekar a looming vocalist of ‘Gwalior’ Gharana received this cultural heritage from his mother Manasi Khandekar and late Dr. Veena Sahasrabuddhe.
