AAP emerges as frontrunner; BJP closes the gap: ABP News-CVOTER Delhi Opinion Poll Survey 2020

New Delhi, February 5th 2020: With an aim to determine the mood of voters ahead of the Delhi elections, ABP News with CVOTER survey today announced its findings of the final opinion poll. The poll indicates that Aam Aadmi Party is set to retain power in the national capital in the 2020 Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, which are scheduled for February 8th, 2020.

The survey conducted with Centre for Voting Opinion & Trends in Election Research (CVOTER) keeps the viewers abreast of the various political opinions and understand the mood of voters.

The CVOTER survey revealed that as per public opinion, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is leading with 45.6% vote share (with 42-56 Seats), whereas BJP is standing second with 37.1% vote share (with 10-24 Seats) and Congress party managed to bag third spot with mere 4.4% vote share (with 0-4 Seats) . 12.9% respondents were undecided about the same.

In the first poll, it was estimated that AAP would win 53.3% vote share (with 54-64 seats), followed by BJP with 25.9% vote share (with 3-13 seats) in Delhi; while Congress was expected to win 4.7% vote share with around 0-6 seats.

Sharing the survey methodology and survey details, the survey reached out to a total of approximately 11,188 people of Delhi.

Current projections are based on CVOTER daily tracking poll conducted between January 26th to February 4th, basis among 18+ adults statewide, including likely voters. The data is weighted to the known demographic profile of the states. Final data has socio-economic profile within +/-1% of the demographic profile of the national capital. This provides the closest possible trends. The Tracking Poll Fieldwork covers random probability samples during the last 9 days from the release date. The sample spread is across all assembly segments in the poll bound states. The Margin of Error (MoE) is +/- 3% at macro level and +/- 5% at micro level with 95% confidence interval.
