Pune, December 11, 2019: The National Information Technology Employees Sena (NITES), a Trade Union of Information Technology Employees working for benefits and welfare of IT sector across India, has demanded that there should be at least one proper, clean and hygienic Sanitation house each in all Phases of IT Park Hinjwadi, Pune.

According to NITES, in Maharashtra’s five star IT Hub Hinjawadi, there are more than 126 small as well as big companies. Thousands of citizens visit Hinjawadi IT Park every day for employment, business and other related activities. These thousands of commuters are facing tremendous problems due to lack of public sanitation houses.

Due to this woman, elderly citizens as well as handicapped persons are facing tremendous issues. They have no option but to make use of private toilets at hotels and malls. Making use of toilets at hotels and malls is risky because there were incidences happened in Hinjawadi area where hidden cameras were found in toilets of hotels and Malls for recording purposes.

Hence making the use of toilets at hotels as well as malls is not secure. This is apathy to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan program run by Government of India where on one side Central government are spending crores of rupees towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyan stating that every house should have toilets in every villages as well as small areas too. But, there is not a single Sanitation house in Hinjawadi MIDC as well as herein the IT Park. There are many empty lands available which is acquired by MIDC.

NITES has requested Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to look into the issue pertaining to lack of Sanitation houses seriously.

“Also we are keeping PMRDA, HIA and MIDC into loop for building proper, clean and hygienic Sanitation Houses and make available the same to the public. As this should be in Hinjwadi IT Hub, the Sanitation house should be similarly build. The related authorities should take this issue on priority and resolve the same as this is basic need of the society”, NITES stated in a press release.
