After permission for rally at SSPMS ground cancelled on Pune police instruction, Bhim Army  approaches Bombay High Court

Pune – Chandrashekhar Azad alias Ravan led Bhim Army has approached the Bombay High Court today (Sunday) after the organisation was denied permission for rally at SSPMS ground near Pune RTO. The petition is being heard by  vacation bench of justice CV Bhadang of the High Court.

The All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society (AISSMS) which owns the ground wrote to Datta Pol,  who is head of Bhim Army for Pune District, stating that permission for the rally has been cancelled after instructions from the Pune city police.

The petitioner has demanded the High Court  to direct the state government to grant permission to Bhim Army of Public Meeting on 30/12/2018 and 31/12/2018 at SSPMS Ground, Pune for the Bhima Koregao Sangharsh Mahasabha.

“All intellectual speakers are called to deliver their speeches viz Mr. Rajratna AMbedkar (Indian Buddh Mahasabha),  Amol Meetkari and Sarfaraj Shaikh who are scholar of History and Literature and also participated by Adv. Chandra Shekar Azad is the founder and chief of Bhim Army (all India). Other leaders of the Bhim Army Mr. Vinay Ratan Singh, Kamal Singh Valia , Manjeet Notiyal, and many office bearers of Bhim Army organizations and many of the Volunteers were also participating. We had applied to police for permission but we did not get any reply from them. We had made huge expenditure for the public meeting and all arrangement has been done by the BHIM Army Organization, suddenly on 29/12/2018 I saw the news on the TV9 news channel that the police had refused the permission, but officially the i did not receive any intimation from the police authority”, states the petition filed Pol though lawyer Nitin Satpute.

The petitioner stated that in the Public Meeting the speeches will be delivered by the scholars and leaders of the BHIM ARMY in the interest of the downtrodden people. In the public meeting no hatred speeches will be delivered. The petitioner and organization of BHIM ARMY will take care that no public law and order will be disturbed. And the said public meeting will abide all condition imposed by the court.

The petition stated that Mumbai police have not allowed Mumbai Bhim Army to conduct Cultural Program which was to be performed in it scheduled i.e. 29/12/2018 at Historical Jambhori Ground (Maidan), Worli Mumbai 400018 the officer bearer have been detained and arrested by the Mumbai police so that they can not perform Cultural Program at Jambhori Maidan, Worli, Mumbai 400018.

“State of Maharashtra or/ and Mumbai police has violated the fundamental right of expression, Mumbai Police has made house arrest of many officer bearers of Bhim Army and many innocent. State has made House Arrest of Chandrashekhar Azad and Ashok Kamble and who are the chief of Bhim Army all India and Mumbai Respectively. The state has not merely made house arrest of Chandrashekhar Azad but they made house arrest of fundamental rights so it can not be executed by the people of India.  Due to illegal act of the respondents it appears that whether there is democracy in India or not.  Chandrashekhar Azad and Ashok Kamble and many other innocent were arrested by Mumbai police so that they should not visit on 1/1/2019 to Bhima Koregao as well as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chaityabhumi. Petitioner state that every citizen has right to move anywhere, but it appears the citizens’ rights have been deprived by the police and they are acting as dictator in free India. Petitioner want to conduct public meeting at Pune by abiding law and is ready to give their undertaking that it will not cause any type of Prejudice and harm to public harmony so that the Law and Order will get disturbed.”
