Aurangabad: AIMIM Aurangabad Central MLA Imtiaz Jaleel has been selected by the British High Commission for a study tour to London for young political leaders. The commission has selected 12 young political leaders from different parties from across the country for the week long programme aimed at future political leaders. Imtiaz is the only politician from Maharashtra to be selected.

In a letter sent to AIMIM MLA Imtiaz, the british deputy head of mission, Colin Wells stated that the purpose of the visit for young political leaders will be to showcase strengths, opportunities and challenges in the UK-India bilateral partnership.

The tour starting October 16 will also be an opportunity for Indian political leaders to meet with their counterparts in British political parties, get insights into the British economy and electoral system and a flavor of some of the exciting work going on in the fields of science and innovation, higher education, energy and urban sectors.

The programme is fully sponsored by the British High Commission, New Delhi  and will comprise a dozen young politicians cutting across Indian political parties.

Before joining politics Imtiaz was a journalist with a reputed television news channel and had an experience of 23 years in the profession.  In September 2014 he quit his job and contested assembly election on AIMIM ticket from Aurangabad central.
