Alumni Association of COEP celebrates it’s silver jubilee function and Engineers Day

Pune, September 17, 2019 : Alumni Association of COEP celebrated it’s silver Jubilee function and Engineers’ Day recently to commemorate Birth Anniversary of Bharatratna Sir Mokshagundam Visveswaraya alumnus of COEP who graduated in Civil Engineering in the year 1883.

Mr. V.G.Jana, SR.Chief Executive, Shirke Construction Technology Pvt.Ltd was chief guest for this function. Mr.Subhash DeshpandePresident of Alumni Association of COEP, Mr.Ramesh Rao (Hon Treasurer) Dr..Pratap Raval. (Hon. Secretary), Mr.B.B.Ahuja, Director College of Engineering, and large number of past students were present on this occasion.

Subhash Deshpande welcomed the guest and said “Alumni is helping COEP Students for the advance Technical education, better infrastructure, Laborites, Library and financial aid to students. ”

Ramesh Rao presented the Audit Report and said“ this year nearly 160 students were benefited by the way of Schlorships, award, hostel fees etc. amounting Rs. Thirty lakhs. He appeal to Alumnus to share their experiences, exchange knowledge, provide Research projects and better education facilities to students and educational Institutes for good future. ”

Mr. V.G.Jana in his key note speech said “Civil Engineering is a mother of all Engineering branches which is required for any development during the commencement of Industry. The financial strength of any state or country is judged by the construction growth. Innovation required in many industries is a continuous process. Implementation required imitative in short you have to change with the time otherwise you will be throw out of the business.

New generation should take pride in their profession. A passion for the profession is required. They should not look only remunerations, positions and postings. Remuneration is not reward for an engineer. The reward is the satisfaction of doing a job well. We will help to fulfill the dream of our Prime Minister Hon.Narendra Modi to provide housing projects to common man at a reasonable cost, with best Quality and in time construction. . ”

Former president Mr.Shreepad Mirashi and Prof.P.V.Mandke were felicitated for their valuable contribution in the Alumni Association in the past. The winners of Painting competition were felicitated. The silver jubilee souvenir was released.

Kedar Joshi, Aparna Bapat-Kale, Lalit Deshpande,Snehal Oak-Walimbe,Mandar Herlekar,Deepak Thite and Aaditya Apte all alumni of COEP presented “Saptak “ a musical programe e of Hindi and Marathi songs based on Indian classical Ragas.Prof.Raval proposed the vote of thanks.
