Anmol Dhawan and Prabhav Vasistha from Armed Forces Medical College triumphs in Tata Crucible Campus Quiz at Pune

Pune: Tata Crucible Campus Quiz is back to challenge the masterminds across the country. In its 13th edition this year, the quiz will cover 38 cities across India. At the Pune regional round of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2017 held today, Anmol Dhawan and Prabhav Vasistha from Armed Forces Medical College defeated 160 number of teams emerging as the winning team and they will now compete with other teams in the Zonal Finals to be held in Mumbai. The runners up position was bagged by Ritesh Benedict and Prateek Sarawgi from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune.

The winners of the Pune regional round were awarded a prize money of Rs. 75,000* and the runners up Rs. 35,000* respectively. The winners of the national finals will receive a grand prize of Rs. 5,00,000 /-* along with the coveted Tata Crucible Trophy. Besides the winners and the runners up, the other finalist teams included Abhishek Kumar Sinha and Abheer Bandodkar from Balaji Institute of Modern Management, Ajinkya Ambegaonkar and Krunaal Taukar from Rajarshi Shahu College of Engineering, Priyank Bhardwaj and Akhil Singla and Saket Upadhyay and Soumik Banerjee from Balaji Institute of Modern Management respectively.

The Pune regional round of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2017 enjoyed an enthusiastic response with 160 teams participating across the colleges. The rounds and pattern of the quiz was themed around contemporary games. Each segment of the quiz was divided in three rounds titled ‘League of Legends’, ‘Need for Strategy’, and ‘Game of Crowns’. The quiz was hosted by ace quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam, better known as ‘Pickbrain’ who kept the contestants and audience constantly engaged.

The excitement and enthusiasm was at an all-time high at the Pune regional round. The final round was a close fight between both the teams that played tactically and prudently. In Pune regional round, Armed Forces Medical College, was the only one team that did not take a single negative point and swept-off the competing teams with a whopping score of 250, thereby, winning the finals.

Present at the event and congratulating the winners Chief Guest Prof. B. Parandhaman, Principal Director, Sri Balaji Society said, “It was a flawless game by the winners today. The team was clear when not to take a chance and how much of a chance you can take. And when they had to take a chance, they took because they knew that it was the moment to go for it. It is good to see people from different universities come and rise together and with that I would like to wish the winners all the very best for the next rounds”.

The Zonal Finals will be organised in New Delhi (Zone 1), Kolkata (Zone 2), Mumbai (Zone 3), Coimbatore (Zone 4) and Hyderabad (Zone 5). The top two teams from each zone will battle it out for the Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2017 title at the National Finals to be held in Mumbai in April, 2017.
