APMTA players make waves with notable performances

7 November 2019, Pune, 2019: Trailblazing through the tennis world, APMTA players Aryan Goveas, Manas Dhamne, Daksh Prasad, Cahir Warik, Sahil Gaware, and Yubrani Banerjee shine bright at the recently concluded Fenesta Nationals held at Delhi. Fenesta Open Tennis tournament is recognized as the only single full group Nationals covering Men, Ladies, Boys and Girls under 18, 16, and 14. The tournament witnessed 900 matches across 2 weeks making it one of the most sought-after platforms for young and upcoming players to showcase their skills. Showcasing their talent, below are some of the notable performances of APMTA players in the tournament.

· Aryan Goveas – Men’s Singles Runner Up

· Daksh Prasad – U14 Doubles Winner

· Cahir Warik – Doubles Runner Up

· Manas Dhamne – U14 Singles Semi Finalist

· Yubrani Bannerjee – Womens Doubles Semi Finalist & Singles Quarter Finalist

· Sahil Gaware mens doubles semi finalist

The 21 year old Aryan Goveas left a remarkable mark by acing through the tournament by reaching the finals of the reputed tournament in the Men’s section.He won some incredibly close matches. Starting with a rusty touch, Aryan soon got into the groove by beating prominent opponents on his way to the finals. However, the talented young lad lost the nail-biting final to Niki Poonacha. Aryan also finished as a runner-up in the recently concluded ITF mens $25k doubles in Nigeria.

Daksh Prasad presented a wonderful performance by lifting the doubles title of the U14 category after he overcame his friend and academy-mate Cahir Warik in the finals.

On the other hand, 12 year old Manas Dhamne proved his mettle as he reached the semi-finals of u14 and quarter final of u16. He exhibited a lot of grit by beating experienced players in the tournament. In addition, Manas is all set to participate in Asian qualifying playoffs Les Petits at Bali, Indonesia from 3rd of November 2019 to 9th of November 2019; if Manas succeeds and stands in the first 3 in playoffs he will get the opportunity to play main draw in Les Petits, France from 22nd January 2020 onwards. Manas will also be participating in Eddieherr under 12 at Brandenton, Florida from 26th of November 2019, along with Orange Bowl tournament from 14th December 2019 to 24th December 2019 at Miami, Florida

Accompanying the junior group in the Nationals, Coach Prosonjit Paul made a huge difference in the approach and preparation of the players in the tournament.

Guided by a team of experienced coaches Aditya Madkekar and trainer Kaifi Afzal, APMTA employs a holistic, 360-degree approach to player development with the focus on providing international coaching standards along with sports science support but also on character development and life skills.
