Aster RV Hospital in association with Ramakrishna Mission Shivanahalli Initiates planting drive in a bid for greener tomorrow

Bangalore, 11 July: As part of the Aster Volunteers program, Aster RV Hospital in association with Ramakrishna Mission Shivanahalli planted 150 saplings in an effort to reforest the area and restore the lost green belt around Shivanahalli, a small village close to Bannerghatta National Park.

Sprawled across half an acre of land, the doctors & staff from Aster RV Hospital participated in the planting drive at the Ramakrishna Ashram at Shivanahalli. This initiative is a part of the “Project kaanana”, a project aimed at the conservation and preservation of Bannerghatta National Park.

The drive was aimed at increasing the green cover of the city. The drive would be expanded to other areas in the coming days. Species belonging to Chukrasia tabularis, Ficus benjamina, Pterocymbium tinctorium, Ficus racemose, Melia dubia, Hylanthus excels were planted. The watering of the sapling will be done by Ramakrishna Ashram.

This initiative by Aster Volunteer is another step taken up by the group towards creating a sustainable, clean, and greener future for the generations to come. This initiative will see a series of such tree-planting drives in the coming days.
