Bavdhan Manch Cultural Fest mesmerize people

Pune, June 21  – The month long Bavdhan Manch Cultural Fest 2016 came to an end with a glittering closing ceremony, grand finale and prize distribution. It was an evening  of music and dance, in which over 20 performers in solo and groups enthralled the audience for over five hours in a grand display of talent. Celebrity judges, film and stage singer-actress Asmita Chinchalkar, who was also the event  mentor and Ms Amartya Chatterjee, Kathak dancer also gave dazzling performances of singing and dance .

The month long event conducted by Bavdhan Manch, a  citizen’s group, featured competitions in vocal, instrumental, dance and drama categories, with multiple age groups in the semi classical and light formats, in solo and groups. More than 250 participants took advantage of these competitions held on the weekends, at Ambrosia and Suryadutta College. More than 60 prizes were awarded in 21 categories to the winners. Live competitions were held for one dance and one vocal category. Talent development workshops were held on weekdays, featuring music, origami, flute and Dhol taasha and more and they got a huge response from Bavdhankars.

.The event was graced by the presence of Shri Girish Bapat , the Hon. Guardian Minister of Pune , Shri. Nandkumar Sutar, executive editor of Sakal, . Mrs Pushpa Kanojia, member PMC, Sponsors Mr. Dilip Anna Vede Patil, Dr Mrs Veda Purandare from Chellaram Hospital, Ms Mahua Narayan, MD Ambrosia Hotel, Mr Harshad Jodhage, Sr. Manager Lokmanya Bank, Mr Gorakh Dagade, editor of Bavdhan Times.

Guardian Minister Shri Girish Bapat and other dignatories gave away the prizes.  In his speech , he appreciated the spirit of togetherness and awareness shown by Bavdhankars by participating in this event. He also complimented Bavdhan Manch for bringing together young and old in a family atmosphere to celebrate this event. “The encouragement and exposure given by Bavdhan Manch to the youngsters in the community will help shape the future of the youth in a positive way”, said Mr Bapat. Mr Nitin Pradhan, founder Bavdhan Manch, complimented Bavdhankars for their unity and participation in this unique event. He also stressed the need of Bavdhan residents, for a central community centre complex, to fulfil the needs of sports, games and cultural activities of over 40000 Bavdhan residents. He requested Mr Bapat on behalf of Bavdhankars to help make this a reality. Other members of Bavdhan manch included Mr Vaibha Nagarkar, mr Dushyant Bhatia, and Mr Dilip Puranik.

The event was hosted by Mrs Snehal Gupte, Mr Prasad Shirgaonkar, and Mrs Pallavi Sajanapwar in classic Maharashtrian tradition wearing typical Puneri costumes, complete with Navari sarees and Puneri pagdi.
The competition was fortunate to  have eminent judges, including  Asmita Chinchalkar, Amartya Chatterjee, Uday Ramdas, Madukar Paradkar, Kavita Tikekar Amit Kakde and Gauri Deshpande.
