Bharati Vidyapeeth Law College principal Mukund Sarda passes away at 53

Pune – Dr. Mukund Sarda (53), Dean of Law faculty of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University and principal of New Law College, passed away on Wednesday. He was ill for the last few months.

He became the Principal of New Law College in the year 1991 at a very young age of 25 years.He was triple gold medalist at LL.B., LL.M, and Ph.D. His academic excellence is acclaimed by the experts in the field of law. He had the rare honor of being invited at Oxford University on 18 March 2009 to deliver lecture on “Media & Law”.

He did his Doctorate from Osmania University(Gold Medalist), LL.M. from the University of Pune(Gold Medalist) and LL.B from Marathwada (Gold Medalist).

He was very popular among students for his teaching methods. “He used to give examples and narrate the situations in such a way that it became easy to understand various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). He was also fond of Shayari. He always started and ended his speeches during programs, with Shayari”, a student recalled.
