BLOOD DONATION CAMP AT MH (CTC) PUNE

On the occasion of Army Day 2017 celebrations, a Blood Donation camp was organised by MH (CTC) Pune in the hospital on 14 January 2017.

There was an enthusiastic response to the camp and a large number of serving personnel from various units in Pune station voluntarily donated blood on the occasion.

The programme started at 0900 hrs and continued till 1300 hrs. All the donors were screened by a prelim medical examination of BP, Height, Weight and other relevant tests as per the protocol. The camp not only helps to educate the persons but also further motivated them to give blood in future. One officer, one JCO, 51 other ranks, five civilians and one family donated blood.

Maj Gen Deepak Kalra, VSM**, the Major General (Medicals), HQ Southern Command/ the Commandant of the hospital emphasized that blood was a special commodity and it’s in the Army’s ethos to help save lives. He further added that blood donation was a noble cause and every donor contributes to community development.

All the donors were given a donor card from the Blood Transfusion Department of the AFMC.
