Businessman kidnaped for Rs 5 crore ransom rescued by Pune police

Pune, June 28, 2016: A 28-year-old businessman from Hadapsar was allegedly kidnapped on Monday night for ransom of Rs 5 crores.

After getting complaint in this regard, sleuths from the anti-extortion cell of the crime branch acted swiftly and nabbed five kidnappers after raiding various places in and around Pune.

Police officials said that the kidnappers were changing their locations frequently and had brought down the ransom amount to Rs 3 crores.

Finally the crime branch team located a car near a dhaba at Yavat, about 50 km from Pune, on the Solapur highway. The black color Zen car had all window glasses rolled up. The cops suspected foul play and broke the glasses and found four accused alongwith the victim. One of the accused was hiding in sugarcane farm and he was also arrested on Tuesday morning.
