Chairman State Public Service Commission inaugurates exhibition

Art was the reflection of soul and artists engaged in creativity were rendering a real service to the society. This was stated by Chairman Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Shri K.S.Tomar after inaugurating an exhibitions put up by about 95 artists of the country at Himachal Pradesh State Museum at Shimla today. He said that younger generation was getting allured towards various temptations but there was always scope for good artists and creativity.

Shri Tomar said that commercial angle has also crept in the field of arts also, which at times was creating disillusionment. The true artist was one who was undeterred by these emerging trends, he added. He said that it was the need of the hour to accord due regard and recognition to the artists.   He said that the State Museum was providing an apt platform for the artists to exhibit their talent.

Shri Tomar said that the restricted road connecting the State Museum should be opened for the common people and tourists so that they could have glimpse of the rich culture and art of the State.

The exhibition would be open for general public from 10 am to 4.50 pm till 31st of January, 2016 on every working day except Monday.

Chairman State Museum Shri Mohinder Singh Negi, Archeological Engineer Shri C.L. Kashyap. Registration Officer Dr Hari Chauhan and senior artist Shri Sameul Messaieh were present on the occasion among others.
