Chief Minister receives invitation to inaugurate National Tennis Tournament

Delegation of Chhattisgarh Tennis Association led by Chairman Mr. Vikram Sisodia today paid courtesy call on Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today. Delegation invited Chief Minister to attend inaugural programme of Inter-State All India Tennis Tournament to be organized in Bhilai from February 16 to 26.  It is noteworthy that nearly 150 tennis players from 22 states of state will participate in this tournament, which will be organized for both men and women categories. Men’s Tournament would be organized from February 16 to 21 and women’s tournament will be organized from February 23 to 26.  On the occasion, Chief Minister released the logo of the tournament. Association Chairman Mr. Vikram Sisodia told Chief Minister that Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) has constructed a magnificent stadium at the cost of Rs 5 crore to promote Tennis Sport. This stadium will also be inaugurated at the inaugural programme of the tournament. Chief Minister said that such national-level sports tournaments are great platforms for young sportspersons to exhibit their talent. Dr Singh extended best wishes for the success of the event. Delegation included Executive Director of BSP Mr. Therpa, Sports Officer of BSP Mr. Rakesh Kumar Singh, General Secretary of Tennis Association Mr. Gurucharan Singh Hora, Senior Tennis Players Mr. Lawrence Santiago, Mr. Rajendra Chauhan, Mr. Swaminathan, and Mr. Rajesh Patil.
