CISF prepared to celebrate 5th International Day of Yoga with great fervor

New Delhi, June 20, 2019: The 345 units and 74 Formations of CISF which includes 08 Training institutions, 12 Reserve Battalions, Zonal, Sector and Force HQrs across the length and breadth of the country are ready to celebrate the 5 th International Day of Yoga on 21 st June, 2019 with great fervor.

In presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Mass Yoga Demonstration will be held at Prabhat Tara Ground, Ranchi (Jharkhand). Large number of CISF personnel of Ranchi based Units and 2 nd Reserve Battalion with other fellow CAPFs personnel will participate in the Mass Yoga Demonstration at Ranchi.

On this occasion, CISF has been designated as Nodal Force to coordinate with other Central Armed Police Forces for conducting Yoga demonstration at Delhi. A team of more than 1000 personnel from CAPFs including more than 250 CISF personnel consisting of various ranks will participate in the 5 th International Day of Yoga at Rajpath, New Delhi. Prior to yoga demonstration, CISF women commandos of DMRC Unit, New Delhi, trained in “Pekiti-Tirsia Kali” (a Filipino martial art) will showcase the self-defence techniques to generate awareness among masses in self-defence at Rajpath, New Delhi.

CISF has also been designated as Nodal Force to conduct Yoga demonstration at Mumbai and Hyderabad on the occasion. More than 1000 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) personnel will participate in the said demonstration at each location, including 800 CISF personnel at Mumbai and 650 CISF personnel at Hyderabad.

Shri Rajesh Ranjan, DG CISF, Senior Officers and other CISF personnel will also participate in the yoga session to be held in the lawns of CISF Headquarters New Delhi on 21 st June, 2019.
