City Photographers Come Together With a Social Cause

Pune, 18 April : The photography enthusiasts in the city have just got a new platform to come together and learn the tricks of the trade. ‘Click Share Chat Katta’, a group of like-minded photographers, has organized the first Mega Photography Exhibition – Capture India from April 25 to 27. The exhibition will be held at the Balgandharva Art Gallery, Pune, informed the organizers of the event.

Jyothi Bhuvanraj and Ashish Raut, the founders of the Click Share Chat Katta informed about the event in a press conference held Tuesday. About the exhibition, the duo said that Capture India is a photography exhibition that invites individuals across the country with a passion for photography. The group has tied up with a Mumbai-based NGO ‘Umang’ for this exhibition. The works put up by the participants will be available for sale in the exhibition and 50% of sale proceeds will go to the NGO and 50% to the participant. The minimum base selling price will be Rs.2000/-.

The theme of the exhibition is Indian culture, festivals, people, weddings, food and wildlife. It will have two competitions wherein 15 winners from the 150 shortlisted images will be announced by the Panel of Judges (Industry Experts) and five winners by public poll.   

Mrs. Bhuvanraj said, “We want all to learn about the nuances of the photography. Keeping this aspect in mind, we have arranged seminars by the experts in the field. On the inaugural day itself, veteran photographer and national award winner Shrikant Shimpi will share his experiences and knowledge that will be immensely useful for the budding camerapersons.”

The registration of the entries for the event is open till April 21st. Informing about the group, Mrs. Jyothi Bhuvanraj said, “The group Click Share Chat Katta was founded in February 2016. This is the brainchild of Mr. Raut. Its main focus is to promote all aspects of photography, bring together the fellow photographers including the video and cinematography resources, network with the design and editing houses and help the team bridge the gap of demand-supply during peak periods of the year.”

Mr. Ashish Raut said, “The team has currently over 250 active members networking largely through social media sites like Facebook and Instagram.
