Company accepts resignation from fake email, removes showroom director from job in Pune

Pune, December 5, 2019: A 46-year-old director of a car showroom of a very reputed company in Camp lost his job after someone sent his resignation letter to the company from fake email account.

As per the FIR registered with Bundgarden police station, Pune city police, the company had accepted the resignation and removed the director from the job. The director, a resident of Aundh, learnt about the fake email after he enquired with the company after loosing job and he was shown the copy of his resignation letter.

According to police, the incident took place between April 3 and 4 this year. Now police have registered the case against unidentified person for offence under section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.

Police inspector (crime) Shinde is further investigating the case.
