Coronavirus : 90 persons quarantined in their homes in Pimpri-Chinchwad

Pune, March 13, 2020 : A total of 90 persons who returned from Thailand two days ago after attending a wedding ceremony, have been put in ‘home based quarantine’ in Pimpri-Chinchwad on Thursday (March 11).

PCMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar issued an order in this regard. He said that decision about whether to keep them in isolation ward, will be taken later based on their symptoms, if any. Their swabs will be taken for tests from today.

Till now three persons from Pimpri-Chinchwad have tested positive for Coronavirus COVID19. They are admitted to YCM Hospital in Pimpri. They are part of the group that had visited Dubai.

To deal with the Coronavirus outbreak, PCMC administration has set up 10 beds isolation ward at YCM Hospital. There are also in the process of setting up 60 beds isolation ward at Bhosari hospital.

The total number of Coronavirus positive patients in Maharashtra has reached 14 including 9 in Pune (which includes 3 from PCMC area).
