Pune, June 26, 2016: A tree plantation program was organized by The Disaster Management and Research foundation {NGO}, in Purandar taluka of Pune district, on a mountain under the land of forest department nearby Waravdi village.

The members of the NGO were guided by the sarpanch of Waravdi village. As the program started many villagers enthusiastically participated in tree plantation. In order to help promote more number of trees, to reduce the problems faced by nature and to help government this program was self-funded. This village also has a forest conservation committee, which also helped the program by supplying 500 small plants free of cost.

NGO president Colonel Ahaluvaliya said that they have made a decision to plant more trees from next year. The members of Saswad forest department and Zilha Parishad were present at this program. Mr.Ranjeet Desai and Mr Bhushan Mane anchored and organized the program.

The disaster management and research foundation organization was registered in 2001. In 2004 tsunami, 2005 landslides in Konkan and in floods this organization has helped for the welfare of people.

In Malin landslide too this organization had taken the work of disposing the dead bodies. This organization not only provides help in emergencies but also it gives the information of tragedy thereby providing training at different levels of society. The members of this organization being young have decided to come together to give their time and energy for a good cause, for the welfare of the nation.
