DTC Poonch observes World TB Day

JAMMU, MARCH 24- District Tuberculosis Centre (DTC) Poonch today observed the World TB Day at AMT School Poonch.

Chief Medical Officer Poonch Dr. Mumtaz Hussain Bhatti was the chief guest on the occasion and the theme for this year is ‘unite to end TB’.

While addressing on the occasion, Dr. Bhatti stressed the TB patients to undertake complete course of Directly Observed Treatment Short-course (DOTS) treatment as per the advice of the doctors so as to eradicate the disease completely from the country.

Meanwhile speaking on the occasion, District Tuberculosis Officer Poonch, Dr. Fehmida Bandey gave a detailed information regarding the tuberculosis disease and also awared about the preventions and measures which have to be taken for its eradication.

Students from AMT School expressed their views regarding the disease and its prevention at the right time. Prizes were distributed among the best speakers who secured first three positions.

Medical Superintendent District Hospital Poonch, Dr. Niaz Ahmed, Dr. Ishrat Hussain, Dr. Manzoor, Dr. Ruby Naz Bhatti, ex- CEO, KK Kapoor, social activists, Sanjay Raina, Pardeep Khanna, DEO, Paramjeet Singh and staff of District Hospital and DTC Poonch were present on the occasion.
