Experience the ‘Future of Making Things’ at Autodesk University, India & SAARC 2017

Bengaluru, 06th December 2017 – Autodesk’s flagship event Autodesk University, India & SAARC, 2017 (AU India 2017) will be held at The LaLiT Ashok in Bengaluru on Dec. 14, 2017. This is the first time that AU India 2017 is being organized in Bengaluru, India’s technology capital. Currently in its fourth year, AU India 2017 will bring together designers, engineers, architects and creative hobbyists to explore the new ways of making, across the gradually converging sectors of Manufacturing, Media & Entertainment (M&E) and Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC). This year’s key focus will be on Automation, it’s impact on the Future of Work and the role of Autodesk in helping customers thrive in this new era.

This year, AU India 2017 will feature a mix of global experts from architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, media and entertainment industries who will demonstrate how they have implemented leading-edge technologies in their respective sectors. Buro Happold, a global engineering consultancy will showcase exceptional use of Autodesk’s Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Robotics solutions to create the Museum of the Future, the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

The AU Design Gallery will have a lineup of exhibits including a 3D exploration of Apollo 11 command module brought to life by the Smithsonian 3D Digitization Program team using a variety of scanning technologies and reality capture software. Attendees at AU India will get an opportunity to witness world’s first vehicle chassis engineered by artificial intelligence and developed by Bandito Brothers, the ‘Hackrod Chassis’. Additionally, some leading global 3D printed design projects such as the sports prosthetics from Denise Schindler, Bridge Prototype by MX3D and visualizations of Baroque Architecture will also be on display.

Autodesk will also announce the winners of this year’s India Design Challenge, held in partnership with National Institute of Design (NID) and Maruti Suzuki, at AU India. The competition was rolled out earlier this year to inspire ‘design-first’ mindset in engineering students and encourage them to create sustainable automotive product designs: Personal Mobility Solution for Urban Youth – 2025 & Design of Green Vehicle in year 2025.

At AU India 2017, there will also be industry breakout sessions that will cover various topics ranging from application of 3D Printing in Healthcare, Building Information Modeling and Virtual Reality in Construction & Architecture, Robotics and movie making showcase for Blade Runner 2049.
