Govt. of India nominates Bank of Maharashtra for Collection of Donations for PM CARES Fund

Pune, 6th April, 2020: Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) has been nominated by Govt. of India for collection of donations for PM CARES Fund. The Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) was set up on March 28th, 2020 to raise funds for the purpose of providing necessary assistance and relief to the citizens in emergency situations including the COVID-19 pandemic for combating the crisis.

Contributions can be made by Cash, RTGS, NEFT, IMPS, cheques and demand drafts drawn in favour of PM CARES Fund.

One can also remit contributions directly by electronic clearing system (ECS) to the designated savings bank account of Bank of Maharashtra.

All such contributions will be entitled to 100 percent income tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
