Health check-up Camps for Construction Labourers with support from Zilla Parishad

Pune, July 26, 2018: For the purpose of maintaining good health of the construction workers and their families, CREDAI-Pune Metro jointly with Zilla Parishad organised this initiative. The first health check-up camp was initiated at the construction site of M/s. Gera Developments Pvt. Ltd, Bavdhan Khurd recently.

Dr.Dilip Mane, District Health Officer, Dr.Ajit Karanjkar, Taluka Health Officer, Dr. P.S. Wayal and Dr. Vidya Kante Medical Officers, U.K.Julka, General Manager, CREDAI-Pune Metro, J.P.Shroff, Chairman Labour Welfare Committee, Milind Thalathi, Member Labour Welfare Committee, Samir Parkhi, Admin & Labour Welfare Officer, Shashikant Tripathi, General Manager, Gera Developments Pvt. Ltd, Raosaheb Misal, Safety incharge were present on the occasion.

Health checkup of 200 plus workers were done by Primary Health Center, Mutha in the first Health check-up camp. Routine physical checkup, TT injection, Health Education, awareness regarding immunisation, HIV and distribution of free medicines were covered in this camp.

Dr. Dilip Mane, DHO stated, “CREDAI-Pune Metro has taken a very good initiative and Zilla Parishad Health Department will support and co-ordinate for these health check-up camps in Zilla Parishad/ PMRDA Jurisdiction. Initially, 25-30 more such camps will be conducted on Construction Sites. We will also conduct separate specialised Camps i.e. Cancer, Dental, Eye/Ear/Nose etc. We have scheme named as Matru Vandan Yojana and Janani Suraksha Yojana where benefits in the form of financial assistance will be given to lady worker in case of Pregnancy.”

J.P.Shroff, Chairman Labour Welfare Committee said, “Such camps are need of the hour to create awareness among the workers regarding health problems and get it solved. We have already tied up with PMC, Health Dept. and this health movement has been started. The objective behind conducting such camps is to make whole CREDAI Community healthy and ultimately the whole society as well. CREDAI-Pune Metro through Labour Welfare Committee would like to express thanks to Zilla Parishad, Health Dept for giving us opportunity to work jointly and agreed to conduct such health camps in Zilla Parishad/PMRDA Sector.”
