INDIAN ARMY DEDICATES LIGHT & SOUND SHOW TO PUNE CITY

Pune, October 26, 2019: On the eve of 73rd Infantry Day on 26 October 2019, Lieutenant General SK Saini, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command inaugurated a splendid Light and Sound Show at the National War Memorial, Pune and dedicated it to the citizens of Pune.

The inaugural show was witnessed by a host of civil and military dignitaries and Defence Forces Veterans. This show is scheduled to be screened for all Puneites from 01 November 2019 onwards on every Saturday and Sunday.

The light and sound show has been conceptualised & implemented as a joint civil – military venture, with the support of Mr Adar Poonawalla, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Serum Institute of India. The 45 minute scintillating audio-visual extravaganza highlights the stellar contribution of the Indian Army from Independence till date in the field of operations, training, disaster response and nation building.

The National War Memorial presently houses a museum showcasing the history of the Indian Army and acts of valour of various Gallant Warriors of the nation. The National War Memorial also conducts various activities, which include weekly wreath laying ceremony, honouring of Veer Naris & motivational talks by gallantry award winners. This Light and Sound show will provide a unique experience at the National War Memorial, Pune and would rekindle the patriotic spirit amongst all.
