Infosys Pune Concludes TECHZOOKA 2017

Pune – September 25, 2017: The Infosys Pune Development Centre (DC) organized TECHZOOKA 2017 – a ‘Tech-Learn’ Fest, from September 18 – 24, 2017 for Infoscions across 11 DCs in the country. The theme for this year’s event focused on futuristic technologies such as Digitalization, AI, Automation and Analytics. TECHZOOKA is nurtured on the principles of design thinking, with an objective to provide a gamut of technology offerings and effectively deliver maximum value to clients, employees and the community.

This mega ideation event aims at fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within the organization. The weeklong event presented numerous opportunities for Infoscions to get coached on futuristic technologies by the Subject Matter Experts. In addition, the event also showcased sessions by eminent speakers from the industry, engaging panel discussions, technology related road shows and Hackathon.

As part of the celebrations, the Infosys Pune DC partnered with NASSCOM and organized a full day seminar on ‘Women in Technology’ on September 19, 2017. The day proved to be a learning and networking platform for the leaders across organizations. The spirit and confidence of emerging women leaders from across IT as they spoke about the numerous opportunities, the limitless possibilities and the focus on ‘can’ instead of ‘cant’ was profound. While the conference had come to an end, it played its part beautifully, in creating a strong platform for women to connect, interact, support and most importantly INSPIRE each other.

On September 22, 2017, the Pune DC showcased a captivating session led by experts from diverse professions who spoke about the power of technology in varied fields. The experts included DJ Murthovic, demonstrating music creation with virtual reality, Dr. Joydeep Bagchi (Lead Scientist) with his team from Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) sharing insights on their discovery of Saraswati Supercluster, and Mr. Bhomi Bhate (CEO Ruby Hall Clinic), Dr. Prachee Sathe (Director-ICU), Mr. Prakash Iyer (VP-Healthcare, TCL) with their extended team talking about Zero Distance in medical science. This turned out to be an exclusive experience to ‘un’learn from routine work and gain insights from those who are not from ‘IT’, however have embraced it and are now leaders in their own way.

Infosys Pune DC also launched a Virtual Clinic, in partnership with Ruby Hall Clinic, with an aim to provide its employees with quality care to meet their health needs, anywhere and at any time. This is an important step towards creating experience for Infosys employees by providing Telemedicine setup on campus.

The week long technology fest concluded withHacker Factory, a Hackathon event for IT companies on “SMART HINJAWADI”, which saw participation from 34 teams, 100+ hackers across companies in the city. The event showcased talks by mentors and external domain experts from Swach Outreach & Noble Exchange Solutions to help participants with their knowledge in relevant fields.

Diversified problem statements encompassed topics like waste management, intelligent traffic handling with improved governance, collaboration among entities, public property maintenance and health emergency management from multi-disciplinary teams. Unique about this hackathon was increased adoption of emerging technologies in AI / ML and open source domain in solution-zing of the hacks, bringing more completeness. These solutions were evaluated by a panel of experts from Infosys. Hacker Factory organization team have received excellent feedback from hackers and top solutions will be submitted to Pune Corporation for further implementation.

The flagship initiative of Infosys Pune –TECHNOTSAV was started by STAR architects at Pune in 2010, which has grown and matured into a mega ideation and techno zone, in the form of TECHZOOKA, reaching out to more than 20K Infoscions across 11 locations.
