PUNE 30 NOV 2018 : After studying hotel management from MSIHMCT, Pune, he headed to Austria, Switzerland and France to add a global expertise to his education. Once back in Pune, Chef Navtej worked for a few named hotel kitchens before deciding he was ready to build his own restaurant. And hence, in 1997, Arthur’s Theme was born.

It started off as a small outlet with a limited menu, focusing on the authenticity of the European palette. As the restaurant was situated very close to Osho Ashram, Arthur’s Theme hosted a lot of sanyaasis back in the day, and they played a major role in helping the menu and the restaurant grow.

Chef Navtej always maintained the needs of his audience, and continues to do so. He locally sourced ingredients for food that was simple and different from the continental food that was trending those days, and people reacted positively to change.

Arthur’s Theme really has been an iconic part of the city for more than 2 decades now. The restaurant currently has a franchise in Balewadi (Pune) with Dr Haji Zakir Shaikh, an outlet in Goa in partnership with Navin Mirpuri and most recently, a franchise with Barkha Gangwani in Mumbai.

Today, Chef Navtej sits at the head of the table with the most loyal people by his side. Kabir Ahuja has been handling operations for about 10 years now, and Aziz Ghelani, Chef Raj, Badal Giri, Chef Vicky & Sofy Dhillon are all an integral part of his battalion. All in all, every patron and team member of Arthur’s Theme play a huge part in making Chef Navtej’s dream a wonderful reality.
