Kondhwa police solves five burglary cases, stolen jewelry worth Rs 6.5 lakhs recovered

Pune, May 21, 2019 : In a swift action, officials from Kondhwa police station have nabbed two persons and recovered ornaments worth Rs 6.5 lakhs which were stolen from five flats in Kondhwa and Wanowrie this year.

The arrested accused persons are Mustafa Shakil Ansari and Amir Rafiq Shaikh, both residents of Kondhwa Khurd.  One autorickshaw which was used in the crime has been seized.

While investigating theft case at house of Anil Mansharamani of Yewalewadi, policemen Amit Salunke and Jagdish Patil zeroed on an autorickshaw which was seen in CCTV footage several times. The cops contacted its owner who had given it to someone else and from whom Shaikh had taken to drive the autorickshaw on shift basis.

During interrogation, Shaikh told cops about Ansari who is a historysheeter with 16 cases against him in the past. With their arrest, police have solved five cases of house break-in. Police have also seized the autorickshaw used in the crime.

DCP (Zone 5) Prakash Gaikwad, ACP Milind Patil, supervised the investigation team which included Senior Police Inspector Anil Patil, Police inspector (crime) Mahadev Kumbhar, Assistant Police Inspector Chetan More and policemen Rajas Shaikh, Yogesh Kumbhar, Sanjiv Kalambe, Surendra Kolge, Kiran More, Sushil Dhiwar, Nilesh Wanwe, Umakant Swami, Azim Shaikh, Iqbal Shaikh, Vilas Toge, Vilas Dhole.
