Lockdown in Maharashtra might be lifted in phases, if people cooperate

Mumbai, April 4, 2020: “We are discussing whether to give phase-wise relaxation after April 14, but this will be possible only if people cooperate and maintain discipline”, said Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

The number of COVID19 cases in Maharashtra stands at 537 including 50 patients who have been discharged.

“We are taking all precaution and following lockdown norms. We have stock of 25,000 Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs), 25 lakh N95 masks and 25 lakh Triple-layer masks. In government hospitals, we have 1500 ventilators and arranging for further 2000 for other hospitals which are under Mahatma Jyotiba Phule scheme”, Tope further said.

According to officials, till now nine lakh people have been screened by 2495 teams. These teams are working in 290 containment zones that have been marked in Mumbai and likewise in other districts.
