Due to Union Government’s ‘Ujjwala Yojana’ eight crore women in the country were freed from smoke. Under the Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Abhiyan 40 lakh families in the state will be rid of smoke by providing gas connections to them.

Pt Deendayal Upadhayaya used to say that the last segment of the society should be the focal point of any scheme. I congratulate the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department for studying how the benefits of Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Abhiyan could be taken to the last segment while planning the details of the campaign, Fadnavis said.

He further said that the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has succeeded in restricting the corruption through digitization. With identification of fake beneficiaries and cancellation and their ration cards the department was able to reach out to the neglected beneficiaries, Fadanvis added while congratulating the department.

Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Sambhaji Patil-Nilangekar said that the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department is working to make public distribution system (PDS) more competent and effective. With the changes in PDS benefits could be given to actual beneficiaries and new beneficiaries could be connected.
