Pune, May 10, 2020: Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Saturday expressed gratitude to Maharashtra Police by changing his display picture (DP) on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp. He asked people to do so in massive numbers to cheer the men and women in khaki who have been running round the clock despite many of them getting infected, and six losing their lives.

He tweeted, “Maharashtra Police has stood by citizens through calamities, attacks & disasters. Today as they lead the war on Corona on the streets, I’ve decided to celebrate them by changing my DP on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc to the Maharashtra Police logo. Join me in this endeavour.”

In a Facebook post, Deshmukh said, “There is a need to highlight that the brothers in my police family are not alone. The people care for the police as much I do as home minister. I will keep the logo of Maharashtra Police as the DP of all my social media accounts like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in honor of our brave police. You too should use the logo (as the DP) to participate in big numbers to honor the police brothers.”

He further added, “There is a need to highlight that the brothers in my police family are not alone. The people care for the police as much I do as home minister,” following which thousands of people posted the Maharashtra Police logo on all social platforms across the state and country.
