Man kills wife for FB, WhatsApp chat about family planning treatment, commits suicide

Pune – In a shocking incident , a man allegedly killed his techie wife and then committed suicide, for sharing their personal details with friends.

The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Gangurde (34) and Sonali Gangurde (28), both natives of Nashik, who had been living in Shiv Park society i n Manjri.

Rakesh worked with a private firm. They were married for the last four years but had no kids. Sonali was reportedly discussing their family planning treatment among friends on Facebook and WhatsApp. This led to fight among the couple and therefore Gangurde killed his wife and committed suicide. He has left behind a suicide note mentioning this as the reason.

The incident came to light on Wednesday night. Sonali’s mother called her brother Harshal Pawar (25) who also lives in Pune on Wednesday around 5 pm to go to her residence as she is not able to contact her. Sonali’s phone was switched off.

When Harshal and his friends reached the flat, the door was locked from inside. As there was no response, he called a keymaker after his number from just dial but there were two doors. So with the help of Hadapsar police station staff the door was broken around 10 pm. They found Sonali lying motionless on the bed while Gangurde was hanging.

Police have registered a murder case against deceased Gangurde.
