Mitra Foundation to organize ‘Yuvakruti – 2016’

Pune, 18th August 2016: ‘Mitra Foundation’, a city based organization that strives to promote Indian art and Music organizes every year ‘Yuvakruti’ as one of its programs to encourage young budding artists.

‘Yuvakruti –a 2016’ will be presented on Sunday, August 21st at 5.00pm at Tilak Smarak Mandir in the city. This program will be open for all and free balcony passes can be collected from the venue from Friday, 19th August onwards

The evening will start with the flute performance by upcoming artist Saurabh Vartak. Saurabh is a disciple of Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia. He will be accompanied by Shikhar Naad Qureshi on the African instrument, ‘Djembe‘. Shikhar Naad is the son and disciple of renowned percussionist Taufiq Qureshi and a grandson of legendary Tabla exponent Ustad Alla Rakha.

Later, upcoming vocalist Sayali Satyajit Talwalkar, disciple of Arati Ankalikar and Padma Talwalkar will perform. Sayali is the daughter in law of Taalyogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar. She will be accompanied by Tanmay Devchakke on Harmonium and Pandurang Pawar on Tabla.

Senior guru and noted artist Pt. Manohar Dabke will be honoured on this evening. He will be awarded with the cash prize of Rs. 10,001/- for his contribution towards music. Many artists have learnt music under the guidance and tutelage of Pt. Manohar Dabke.
