Mumbai: All 60 plus COVID-19 positive patients, senior citizens will be treated at bigger hospitals

Mumbai, April 4, 2020:- A total of 18 people had died of Corona in Mumbai and the number of people above 60 years is more among these deceased. Due to this all those found covid-19 positive and people those above 60 years found with symptoms will be treated at Municipal Corporation hospitals and bigger state government and private hospitals.

People below 60 years of age and without symptoms will be quarantined at Maternity homes, guest houses, hall and other places for treatment. The Mumbai Municipal Corporation had issued a circular stating the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). According to the circular, the number of positive patients in Mumbai has rose to 278 and 18 people died due to the virus. Maximum of those deceased are above 60 years and they were also having history of suffering from various other ailments and hence the rate of mortality is more among the 60 plus patients.

In order to take more care of such old people, they will be henceforth treated at hospitals with all facilities including Kasturba, Saint George, seven Hills, Nanavati and Saifee hospital as per the SOP. All those below 60 years of age and without symptoms will be quarantined at the maternity home building in Nagpada locality, Maternity home near Lilavati Hospital, Public Work Department guest house building in Andheri, Diagnostic Centre in Punjabi lane, MCMCR Powai, Urban Health Centre Shivaji Nagar, Mahatma Gandhi Hall off Bandra lake.
