National Seminar On Shibli Aur Hali Ki Asri Manwiyat held at Deccan Muslim Institute.
PUNE CAMP : The Deccan Muslim Institute, Pune’s ARS Inamdar Library is celebrating its centennial year. A series of programs have been organized throughout the year to mark the centenary year celebrations. To commemorate the 100 years death anniversaries of Maulana Altaf Hussain Hali and Maulana Shibli Nomani, eminent personalities of Urdu literature, a one day National Seminar on”Shibli Aur Haali ki asri Maanviyat” was organized on Saturday, 12th September 2015 from 10 am onwards at the Hi-Tech Hall of Azam Campus, Pune.
The Hon. Secretary, Ms. Mumtaz Sayyed welcomed the guests on behalf of the Institute. Mrs. Uzma Tasneem outlined the aims and objects of the function. Prof. Ishtiyaque Zilli, Director, Darul Musannifin, Shibli Academy, Azamgarh, the Chief Guest of the function, highlighted the vast contribution of Maulana Shibli to Urdu Literature. He advised the students to adopt modern technology along with traditional knowledge, keeping their identities intact at the same time. He added that the most important contribution was of joining the community to its proud andglorious past.Guests of honourMr.Shamim Tarique, writer and columnist, Mumbai and Dr.Salim Shehzad Malegaon, also spoke on the occasion.
The President of the function, Mrs. Abeda Inamdar while delivering the Presidential Address exhorted the students to use modern technologyto its optimum advantage along with their line of study. She encouraged the students to excel in their chosen fields with commitment, dedication and responsibility. To create awareness of Hali and Shibli, elocution and paper reading competitions were also held at school, undergraduate and post graduate levels.
The prizes for these events were also awarded to the winners. The event was also marked by the presentation of the “Late Mirza Niaz Beg Trophy” to the Management of Anjuman e Khairul Islam for “Spreading theLight of Awareness in the field of Education to the masses” This Trophy, instituted by the Management of the Deccan Muslim Institute to salute the services of its past President, Khan Saheb Mirza Niaz Baig, was accepted by the principal of Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce in the presence of the grandchildren of the late president., Mirza Niaz Beg. The seminar concluded with a question and answer session. The vote of thanks was conducted by committee member, Mrs.Shaheda Sayed.
