Karan Kokane, president of Nationalist Student Congress for Pune district, and Somnath Lohar, president of Nationalist Student Congress for SPPU, met the vice chancellor Nitin Karmalkar in this regard.

“The Nationalist Student Congress will strongly protest against any move to introduce RSS history in syllabus and create divide among students. The VC was positive about our demands”, Kokane added.

Recently the Nagpur University added a chapter, named “Rashtriya Swaysevak Sangh (RSS) Role in Nation building” in its revised syllabus for 2nd year BA History, as a replacement of a chapter which discussed the role of RSS, Hindus Mahasabha, and Muslim League in the rise of communalism in the country titled as “Rise and Growth of Communalism”.
