Pune, October 2, 2019 : The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019. It includes four candidates from Pune.

Pune City NCP president Chetan Tupe will contest from Hadapsar, corporator Ashwini Kadam has been given ticket from Parvati, Sunil Tingre will contest from Vadgaosheri while corporator Sachin Dodke will contest from Khadakwasla seat.

This time NCP has preferred young candidates and denied tickets to elders in the party. Tupe was given ticket without even asking, overlooking demands from two former mayors and many corporators.

Tingre had earlier contested the 2014 elections on Shiv Sena ticket. He again came back to NCP and he was given the ticket.

The list of candidates has also put questions over Parvati seat. The NCP and its alliance partner Congress were both claiming the Parvati seat. However, now NCP will field its candidate.
