New India Chaupal roadshows on government schemes held in UP’s Hardoi District

22nd February, Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh: The New India Chaupal roadshow programme to highlight the benefits of the various government schemes was organised in Sandila Tehsil of Hardoi district from 17 th and 19 th February. More than 3800 people attended the roadshows held at various locations in the district. The New India Chaupal roadshows are being organised across the district in various towns and villages till the first week of March.

During the roadshows, few beneficiaries of various government schemes were felicitated. Videos of the beneficiaries of these schemes were also shown at the venue. Later, the beneficiaries were invited on the stage to share how they had benefited from these schemes.

Entertainment and engagement activities such as nukkad natak, performances by local artistes, a lucky draw and a drawing competition were also held during the event. The residents of each district at the venue were provided with brochures and information material on various government schemes. A special exhibition zone provided information about the various government schemes. The visitors to the exhibition and roadshow were also encouraged to collect information about the various schemes. A Jan Ki Baat booth was also erected for the visitors to drop their messages for the Prime Minister.

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting is organizing around 8,000 such outreach programs, called ‘New India Chaupal’, in 318 districts across the country in February and March 2019. The focus of ‘New India Chaupal’ is to show the achievements of the Government of India through its various schemes for the socio – economic development of the masses. The main idea of this program is to communicate information and educate people about various government schemes and encourage them to enrol themselves.

These Chaupals are a platform for the government to share the benefits of these schemes by highlighting success stories and thereby encouraging more and more people to participate in the various schemes.
